SEND Local Offer

Local Offer for Children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND)
As an Early Years setting, we are committed to ensure each child attending our nursery is able to reach full potential, regardless of age, stage or ability. Our practice is underpinned by current legislation which includes: EYFS 2021, Children and Family Act 2014, and 0-25 SEND Code of Practice 2014. Our procedures are in line with the guidance of the Local Authority.
The Nursery Manager is the inclusion Officer and if parents/carers believe that their child might have additional needs, they must discuss these issues as soon as they become aware. Likewise, whenever a Nursery Educator has concerns about a child’s possible special needs, these will be immediately shared with parents. An individualised Support Plan will be agreed with parents and implemented both in the nursery and at home.

Further information for parents

If further support is needed, then the nursery will seek parental consent to notify Tower Hamlets Early Years Intervention Team and access any support available through the Local Offer.

Further information on additional needs and disabilities management can be obtained from the Nursery Manager, by contacting Family Information Service on 0207 364 6494, or emailing fis@towerhamlets.gov.uk as well as accessing the government official SEND Code of Practice 2015 at www.gov.uk
